When we were brainstorming ideas for Carmen and Trey’s engagement session, we found out they love music and food (Trey is a chef at Marker 32) but also wanted an earthy or woodsy session. To incorporate the music aspect, we though a cool vintage style record store would be fun (I was having visions of them going through the racks and pulling out quirky album covers). However, we couldn’t really find a good vintage record store that either wasn’t too modern or in an unsavory part of town. So we then decided to create our own vintage record scene at an abandoned building. That brings us to the second part of our shoot and how to incorporate the woodsy location with something that reflected their journey together or personalities. When we found out that they met in middle school, we got the idea to do a vintage school theme out in a park. So we located a vintage school desk, brought along some old books, an apple, brown lunch sacs, and a chalk board. They totally embraced the ideas and we had a lot of fun shooting these two. We love the results and hope you do too!
